“The Arts at Yellow Springs” is proud to present its
inaugural chamber music series, with
three spring concerts featuring some of the finest
musicians from the greater Philadelphia
region. Concerts take place at 3 PM on February 7, March
7 and April 11, at the West
Pikeland Cultural Center in Historic Yellow Springs,
Chester County.
The first concert presents flutist Edward Schultz and
pianist Jeffrey Uhlig, who bring new
life to music by Bach, Faure, Debussy, Poulenc and
Chester County’s own legendary
Samuel Barber. Schultz (principal flutist with the
Philly Pops and the Pennsylvania
Ballet Orchestra) and Uhlig (principal keyboard player
with the Princeton Symphony
Orchestra and the Ocean City Pops Orchestra) capture the
hearts and minds of audience
members with their spectacular virtuosity and expressive
playing. Come soak up some
culture before that Super Bowl game!
March 7 brings Lyric Fest pianist Laura Ward and New
York City opera star John
Packard, in a wonderful concert of popular and classical
vocal music. On April 16,
experience the exciting classical/jazz duo Diane Monroe
and Michal Schmidt, in a
riveting performance of new works.
Join the musicians for food and conversation in a
special reception following each
concert, donated by Catering At Yellow Springs.
