Help Support the West Pikeland Land Trust

West Pikeland Township, founded on land originally granted by William Penn in 1705, is home to the historic Mill at Anselma and the mineral-rich Yellow Springs, which served as a Revolutionary War hospital. Today, our township is celebrated for its scenic landscapes, vibrant community, and deep agricultural roots. These qualities are not guaranteed for the future—they depend on our collective commitment to land conservation.

The mission of the West Pikeland Land Trust (WPLT) is to advocate for and facilitate land preservation that enhances our township’s character, desirability, and quality of life for current and future generations. Our vision is to create a community-supported “Open Space Network” connecting trails, parks, historic sites, and recreational areas.

Thanks to your support, WPLT has helped protect over 400 acres of open space in West Pikeland, safeguarding farmland, wildlife habitat, and scenic views. We’ve also helped secure grants and funding for new parks and trails and worked with landowners to tailor conservation easements that protect their wishes in perpetuity.

Why is land conservation so important here?

  • To preserve land for recreation, agriculture, and wildlife.

  • To protect our streams and groundwater, ensuring clean water for all.

  • To maintain the rural character and scenic beauty that make West Pikeland special.

  • To reduce the need for costly municipal services by limiting over development.

  • To honors our township’s history and ensures future generations can enjoy the same natural and cultural treasures.

How can you help?

  • Make a tax-deductible donation to WPLT—your gift directly supports land preservation projects.

  • Consider placing a conservation easement on your property.

  • Volunteer with us or join our Board or Open Space Advisory Committee.

  • Stay informed and engaged by following us on Facebook or visiting our website

If you have questions or want to get involved, email us at info@wplandtrust.org and a board member will be in touch. With your support, we can continue to protect the land, water, and history that define West Pikeland Township.

Sincere thanks for your generosity and commitment,

West Pikeland Land Trust Board of Directors
