Major Infrastructure Improvement Coming in 2026
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced finalized plans to replace two aging bridges on Art School Road, between Yellow Springs Road and Miller Road. This significant project will enhance safety and traffic flow for our community.
Project Overview:The two bridges, originally built in 1920 as single-lane structures, will be replaced and widened to two lanes each.
Key Dates & Timeline:
Start Date:Â Utility work by PECO begins March 27, 2026.
During this phase, Art School Road will remain open under a single-lane traffic pattern with flaggers.
Road Closure: A full road closure will follow. PennDOT will post detour signs two weeks in advance of the closure.
Expected Completion:Â April 2027
This project represents a vital investment in our local infrastructure. While temporary detours and closures will be necessary, the result will be safer, modern bridges designed to serve our community for decades to come.
